Zlatan Ibrahimovic Calls Messi a “Ghost” and Inter Miami a “Circus” After 4–0 Club World Cup Loss to PSG.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has heavily criticised Lionel Messi and Inter Miami following their 4–0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup round of 16.

Speaking after the match, Ibrahimovic a former teammate of Messi at Barcelona described the MLS club as a “circus” and claimed Messi has become a “ghost” on the pitch, unable to showcase his usual brilliance.

“This isn’t the Messi I know,” Zlatan stated. “If you put him in a real team, he’d dominate like before. But he’s surrounded by players who run like they’re dragging cement.

There are no real stars, no proper coaching, and no one who understands how to play off the ball.”

Despite Inter Miami featuring big names like Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, the team looked out of their depth against PSG, conceding all four goals in the first half.

Zlatan continued, “Messi still plays because he loves the game and is capable of doing things no one else can. But this team doesn’t support him. It’s not football  it’s a show.”
The remarks have stirred controversy, reigniting discussions about Messi’s role in MLS and whether the league can truly support talents of his calibre on the global stage.
