“West Africa’s Marítime Hub Will Be Lekki Freeport”

Lekki Freeport Terminal’s CEO, Christophe Cassang, has stated that the terminal is dedicated to become one of West Africa’s premier maritime hubs.

Speaking in light of the COSCO, ONE (Ocean Network Express), and ZIM alliance service’s debut at Lekki Port, Casaang stated that the service’s introduction represents a significant turning point in the terminal’s growth and capacity expansion.

According to LEADERSHIP, the E A Centaurus’ landing at Lekki Deep Sea Port on Friday, November 8, 2024, marked the beginning of the services.

With a total length of 277 meters and a capacity of 7,000 TEU for containers, the E A Centaurus is also the biggest COSCO ship to dock in Nigeria. At the port, it anchored at about 10:30 a.m.

According to Cassang, the service’s debut represents a significant turning point in the terminal’s growth and capacity.

Du Ruogang, the Managing Director of Lekki Port, said in his remarks during the ceremony that the introduction of the new shipping line services was a “real monument to to the company’s commitment to Nigeria’s maritime future.
