Watchdog Raises Alarm Over $8.2 Billion in Unspent Aid and Lack of Oversight Amid Trump’s Cuts to USAID.

An independent government watchdog stated on Monday that the Trump administration’s efforts to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) have rendered the organisation incapable of carrying out any appropriate monitoring of $8.2 billion in unspent aid.

After announcing plans on Friday to reorganise the board of the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington, President Donald Trump said on Monday that special U.S. ambassador Richard Grenell will take over as interim executive director of the organisation.
