Victor Osimhen’s €75m Release Clause Applies Only to Foreign Teams — Former Napoli Executive.

Former Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino has cast doubt on the likelihood of Serie A clubs meeting Victor Osimhen’s hefty €75 million release clause, which Napoli reportedly set primarily for foreign clubs.

Speaking to RAI 2, Marino said the price tag reflects Osimhen’s international value, acknowledging the striker’s ability to transform teams from underperformers into title contenders. However, he suggested that only clubs outside Italy might realistically afford the clause.

Marino also raised questions about Galatasaray’s reported interest in Osimhen.

He suggested the Turkish club could be acting as a stepping stone in a potential transfer strategy. “Turkish teams often offer players high wages but rarely pay large transfer fees,” Marino said. “If Galatasaray activates the clause, it might be a way to bypass the foreign club price tag and bring Osimhen to Italy next year at a lower cost.”

The former Napoli official added that Italian giants such as Juventus and Milan have shown interest, and he believes it’s possible that one of them could be working behind the scenes with Galatasaray to secure the striker’s signature.

“It may sound far-fetched, but it could be a smart move,” Marino concluded, leaving the football world intrigued about Osimhen’s future.
