University Student Was Admitted To The Hospital After Being Stapped By Boyfriend For Arriving Late From A Party
After allegedly stabbing his girlfriend Audrey Nyasha Rwambiwa several times over the weekend with a kitchen knife, Webster Mubati, a Harare man, is still at large.
Audrey, a 25-year-old student at Women’s University in Zimbabwe, was viciously attacked after she arrived home late after a party.
Audrey is battling for her life at Parirenyatwa Hospital after being sent there in an emergency.
Audrey and Webster had been residing at Tanaka Place on Josiah Chinamano Avenue when the tragedy occurred.
She reportedly went to a party with friends and got home at around three in the morning.Webster, furious at her tardy return, attacked herand then escalated the attack with a kitchen knife.
He repeatedly slapped her during the confrontation, focussing on her left shoulder, ribs, arm,finger, and breast.
Audrey sought assistance from neighbours who sent her to the hospital after she locked herself in the toilet and shattered a window in a desperate bid to escape.Webster left the scene following the incident, and police hae begun a manhunt for him.
The Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, affirmed the investigation and urged the public to come forward with information that would result in his arrest.
“Police are investigating an attempted murder case involving a university student who was stabbed by her lover.The suspect fled after the attack, and the victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” said Inspector Chakanza.
As the authorities step up their hunt for the fugitive, Audrey’s condition continuesto deteriorate.
