Troops Uncover Maiduguri Filling Station Supplying Fuel to Boko Haram in Jerrycans

The Nigerian Army has stopped a major fuel smuggling operation in Maiduguri, Borno State. The fuel was meant for Boko Haram terrorists in the Gwoza area and parts of Cameroon. Soldiers caught people at Hadiza and Sadiq Filling Station filling 500 jerrycans with fuel. Authorities said it was a serious act of helping the country’s enemies.
Security sources told analyst Zagazola Makama that the army had been watching some illegal fuel sellers who used modified cars to move large amounts of fuel secretly. The fuel would then be poured into jerrycans and taken to areas controlled by terrorists.
This time, the army acted in time and arrested several suspects.
During questioning, they admitted they were taking the fuel toward Pulka and Cameroon, where terrorists from the Ali Ngulde group are active. They claimed they didn’t know exactly who would receive the fuel, only that different people would come to collect it.
