Troops Rescue 11 Kidnap Victims, Including Police Officers, in Benue.
Eleven kidnapped victims, including two serving police inspectors, were rescued by troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) during coordinated raids in Tse-Ahur and Chito communities of Ukum LGA, Benue State.
The OPWS Commander, Maj. Gen. Moses Gara, said the operation took place between August 2 and 3, with Sector 3 troops also blocking escape routes in Taraba.
Two suspects were arrested one allegedly oversaw the kidnappers’ weapons, while the other guarded the victims.
Weapons recovered included AK-47s, FN and G3 rifles, a machine gun, ammo, and fetish items. Gara said the rescue followed ongoing kidnappings in the Sankera axis (Katsina-Ala, Ukum, and Logo LGAs).
