The Appeal Court confirms Oba Olaoye as the Soun of Ogbomoso.
The Court of Appeal in Ibadan upheld Oba Ghandi Olaoye’s appointment as Soun of Ogbomoso, overturning an earlier ruling that nullified his appointment.
Justice Yargata Nimpar led a three-member panel that ruled in favour of Oba Olaoye on all 10 grounds of appeal.
On October 25, 2023, Justice K. A. Adedokun of the Oyo State High Court, Ogbomoso, had nullified Oba Olaoye’s selection, describing the process.However, the appellate court essentially reaffirmed Oba Olaoye’s validity as the Soun of Ogbomoso by overturning the lower court’s decision.
