Soludo raises alarm as 23 Anambra indegines face death row in Indonesia over drug offences.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has raised concern over the alarming situation where 23 people from Anambra State are on death row in Indonesia for drug-related crimes. Speaking during a political gathering, he blamed the trend on fake native doctors who deceive young people into believing that charms can make them invisible to airport scanners while smuggling drugs.

He warned that such false claims would no longer be tolerated, and those responsible would be arrested. Soludo questioned the credibility of these so-called spiritualists, pointing out that many of them can’t even improve their own lives. For instance, one detained native doctor’s son is working as a hotel waiter, and another claimed to be just a content creator.

The governor stressed that while traditional worship is not being targeted, harmful practices disguised as spirituality will be firmly dealt with. He expressed concern over how such beliefs are damaging the mindset of young people, leading them to pursue wealth through shortcuts instead of hard work.
