Samsung Throws Shade at Apple’s iPhone 16: “Tell Us When It Folds”
Samsung is once again engaging in its favorite activity, taunting its competition Apple. This time, the object of their humorous ridicule is Apple’s recently launched iPhone 16 series. During Apple’s big event in Cupertino, California, the company unveiled the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, as well as upgraded Apple Watch and AirPods.
As the world watched Apple’s latest advancements unfold, Samsung decided to have some fun. Samsung’s official X account tweeted a 2022 post with the cheeky message: “Let us know when it folds.” The statement was aimed at Apple’s lack of a foldable phone, a market category in which Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold5 has made headlines. The post ended with a teaser: “Still waiting……”
Meanwhile, Samsung did not stop with digs at foldable smartphones.
In another tweet, the Korean tech giant mocked Apple’s latest AI function, ‘Apple Intelligence,’ which debuted with the iPhone 16 series. Samsung’s tweet stated, “You know… we may have set your AI expectations too high. This is not the first time Samsung has made fun of Apple. Previously, the company objected to an Apple ad for the iPad Pro that featured a hydraulic press crushing various artistic tools—a move many regarded as a metaphor for technology suffocating creative expression. In response, Samsung ran a 43-second advertisement titled ‘Creativity Cannot Be Crushed.’ The commercial showed a lady wandering the ruins of Apple’s hydraulic press scenario, uncovering a battered guitar, and playing it while using a Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra to interpret musical notes. Samsung’s statement was straightforward: “We would never crush creativity.”
