Real Madrid’s Raúl Asencio Faces Up to Five Years in Prison Over Alleged Sharing of Explicit Video Involving a Minor.

Raul Asencio, a Real Madrid defender, faces up to five years in prison after reportedly transmitting an explicit film of a 16-year-old girl.

Asencio, 21, is being investigated alongside three of his former Madrid youth team teammates, Ferran Ruiz, Juan Rodriguez, and Andres Garcia, for an alleged incident that occurred on June 15, 2023, in Gran Canaria and was reported to Spanish police by the girl’s mother a little less than two months later.

The mother alleged that one of the four males recorded an explicit video of her daughter and shared it.Although the recording of the sexual activity was not consenting, the complainant has claimed that it was.

The charges against Asencio have been upheld despite his appeal to the Provincial Court of Las Palmas to have his name removed as a suspect in the case on the grounds that the evidence was speculative.

Asencio was included in Madrid’s starting lineup for their Champions League match against Manchester City on Tuesday night.

The court found that there are “reasonable indications” of illegal activity, and Asencio is accused of both distributing child pornography and discovering and disclosing secrets.

According to the court decision, one of the suspects said Asencio gave him the video, and telephone records revealed that he got it through WhatsApp.

The suspects’ phone records also showed instances in which the complainant was disparagingly mentioned.

Anyone found guilty of capturing and disseminating an explicit video of a kid faces a sentence of three-and-a-half to five years in prison, according to Article 197 of the Spanish Criminal Code.

If Asencio is found guilty of non-consensual recording, this would decrease to a two-and-a-half to four-year prison sentence, according to Mail Online.
