President Tinubu Returns to Abuja, Signs Five Memorandums of Understanding with China

On August 29, President Tinubu departed from Abuja for Beijing, China, where he arrived on Tuesday, September 2, for his formal visit.

President Tinubu signed five memoranda of agreement between Nigeria and China during his bilateral meetings with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and President Xi Jinping in China.

As the chairman of ECOWAS, he also spoke at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing and gave a speech on global peace, emphasizing the need of cooperation and multilateralism as necessary components of world peace.

He concluded his trip to China by meeting with representatives of Nigerians in the China chapter of the Nigerian diaspora organization. He discussed the need for his government to implement reforms in Nigeria and expressed hope that these would bring the nation closer to China, where there are excellent roads, reliable power, and top-notch educational institutions.

After leaving Beijing for London, President Tinubu met with King Charles III to talk about climate change and action.
