President Tinubu Highlights Tripling of State Allocations as a Key Benefit of Fuel Subsidy Removal.

Despite continuous criticism from opposition voices, President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that his administration is unwavering in its commitment to national growth.

Nigerian style On Tuesday night, February 25, the President made this statement while speaking to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.

The President stressed that his administration is not interested in political diversion but rather on producing measurable outcomes.

“Our determination to deliver is unshaken despite the cacophony of misguided, unfounded, and gloomy claims made by our detractors, they will continue to talk, but we are extremely focused,” Tinubu declared.

Although the President admitted that there have been difficulties in implementing some economic initiatives, such as the elimination of gasoline subsidies, he maintained that these changes were required to stabilise the country’s economy.

He maintained that Nigeria would not have been able to endure under the previous system of subsidies, highlighting the fact that state governments are currently getting more funding, which allows them to carry out development projects efficiently.

“It is a daunting challenge. The policies are difficult, but there was no way Nigeria would have survived with the burden of fuel subsidies. Today, I can beat my chest and say that each governor here knows that their allocations to the states have tripled. We have enough funding for the local governments.” he said
