Poultry Farmer Devastated as FCDA Destroys ₦150 Million Investment
Poultry Farmer Bankole Henrich Speaks Out After Losing Over 5,000 Birds and Dismissing 50 Workers Due to FCDA Demolition
Bankole Henrich, a poultry farmer, has expressed his distress after FCDA authorities demolished his facility without any prior notice, resulting in the loss of over 5,000 birds and the termination of 50 employees.
On Sunday, September 8, 2024, Bankole, who uses the handle @henrich_banks on X, posted videos showing the devastation to his poultry farm. In the videos, he accused the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) of conducting the demolition without warning.
Bankole, who had secured all necessary permits including a Certificate of Occupancy before establishing his farm, described the demolition as both shocking and unjust. He questioned the government’s actions, reflecting on his previous candidacy for the House of Representatives in Ekiti under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, and asked why he was not allowed to operate his farm on his own property.
