PDP Governors Move NEC Meeting to November and File a Law to Promote Member Peace
Participants in the conference were the PDP Governors Forum, its Board of Trustees, the National Working Committee (NWC), the PDP Caucus National Assembly Leadership, and the Forum of Former Governors.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors forum has been delayed from October 24, 2024, to November 28, 2024.
Following a consultative meeting of its various organs held Tuesday at the Bauchi State Governors’ Lodge, Tatari Ali House, Asokoro, the decision was made.
Following the meeting, a statement signed by Senator Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State and chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, stated that the purpose of postponing the meeting was to allow the party to participate in the next Ondo gubernatorial elections, which are set for November 16, 2024, with the unity and strength demanded, to “unseat the floundering All Progressive Congress, APC government in the state”.
Another goal of the gathering was to put an end to member discord.
The communique partially stated, “The meeting called on all members to refrain from divisive utterances that could undermine ongoing efforts to strengthen the party to effectively play its role as the country’s main opposition, preparatory to taking over in 2027, and reiterated the need for unity in the face of efforts by detractors to divide the party.”Another goal of the gathering was to put an end to member discord.

It also reaffirmed the need for unity in the face of attempts by critics to split the party.
