NAPTIP breaks a baby factory in Abuja, saving nine pregnant women.

NAPTIP, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, reports that nine pregnant women were saved by its agents from an Abuja baby factory.

Newsmen were given access to a statement on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Abuja, which was provided by Vincent Adekoye, NAPTIP’s press officer.

The baby factory, according to Mr Adekoye, is located on one of the expansive estates in the Federal Capital Territory’s Ushafa neighbourhood.

He also revealed that a worried person had provided the tip that led to the facility’s raid.

According to him, the victims were recruited via an internet platform and then imprisoned in a flat within the estate by an unidentified suspected trafficking agent.

The agency’s director-general, Binta Adamu-Bello, has praised the judiciary for the historic decision to convict and sentence one Bishop Kenneth Duke, Mr Adekoye added.

According to reports, Duke raped a 12-year-old girl in Abuja who was the daughter of one of his church members. The Director General stated that the ruling would act as a message to others and that the Agency would not spare anyone who broke any of its laws.

“Like, I warned a few weeks ago, NAPTIP will not spare anyone found to have violated any of the Laws irrespective of status, either on human trafficking or violence against persons,” she stated.

”R*pe is a serious cr!me with everlasting psychological effect and lasting trauma on the victim.

We must all rise to say no to this heinous crime and ensure the protection of our children.

“How, can you imagine a 52 years old man violating a 12-year-old girl? It is painful and it is cr!minal.

I am relieved that the Judiciary has served the convict the commensurate dose of punishment,” she said.
