Lookman Goes on Strike as Atalanta Block Inter Move Amid Transfer Dispute.

The transfer saga involving Ademola Lookman and Atalanta has escalated, with the Nigerian winger reportedly going on strike in an effort to force a move to Inter Milan.

Lookman has now missed pre-season training for a second consecutive day, following a formal transfer request he submitted over the weekend. In a public statement, the 27-year-old accused Atalanta of failing to keep their promises.

Inter Milan recently increased their offer to €45 million (approximately £32.1 million) including add-ons, after an initial €40 million bid was turned down. However, Atalanta rejected the improved bid as well.

Inter are now expected to return with an offer closer to the €50 million valuation Atalanta have set.

Lookman did not report to an individual training session at Atalanta’s Zingonia facility on Tuesday. On Sunday, he posted a message on Instagram expressing frustration with how the club has handled his situation.

“Even after receiving what I believe is a fair offer, the club is blocking the move for reasons I don’t understand,” he wrote. “After months of broken promises and what I feel has been poor treatment, both personally and professionally, I feel I have no choice but to speak out. Enough is enough.”

Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi responded by saying the club had made an agreement with Lookman last year to allow a move but only to a top club outside of Serie A. “That agreement was made when we turned down a €20 million bid from PSG,” he explained.

Percassi also emphasized that final decisions rest with the club: “Atalanta will always evaluate a player’s value and timing carefully, but ultimately, it’s the club that decides.”
