Kuwait Arrests Two Nigerians Over Allegedly $14,918 Armed Robbery.
The Kuwait General Department of Criminal Investigation in Ahmadi Governorate has detained two Nigerians on suspicion of robbery.
In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said that the suspects were captured within twenty-four hours of robbing an exchange office in the southern Kuwaiti city area of Mahboula.
A video of the robbery was uploaded to the Arab Times Online website.
It depicts one of the suspects getting out of a white automobile and going inside the exchange office while sporting a hooded top.
According to reports, the suspects took foreign currency worth 4,600 Kuwaiti dinars, or around $14,918.69.
According to the paper, “The gang carefully planned the crime, keeping an eye on the exchange offices from nearby rooftops to identify peak times,” the investigation found.
“They also concealed the identities of the vehicles involved in the operation by using stolen license plates.”
After being arrested in Mahboula, one of the suspects allegedly admitted that he had inspected the area and told his partner when the office was empty of clients.
The stolen money and a little bag containing the drug “crystal meth” were found at the home of the second suspect, who was caught in the Al-Qurain Market.
The report stated that the suspects and confiscated goods had been forwarded to the public prosecution for additional legal action, as confirmed by the Ministry of Interior.
