After players and officials misbehaved during Kano Pillars’ last game against Nasarawa United, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fined the team N2 million.

A contentious statement from Kano Pillars’ Media & Communications Directorate, which described player Ahmed Musa making derogatory remarks about match officials, was among the inappropriate behaviour noted by the NPFL.

Ugochukwu Gabriel was also suspended for nine matches beginning on matchday 10 after the league accused Kano Pillars of failing to regulate their team’s conduct. Gabriel received special punishment for his disruptive behaviour during the match. Additionally, the NPFL advised the team to submit complaints through the proper procedures and cautioned Kano Pillars against making any more divisive remarks. A repeat of similar conduct could result in even more severe penalties, the league said.

Kano Pillars can contest these punishments within 48 hours of the notice date. Former NPFL champions Sai Masu Gida are currently being watched to make sure they behave better in future game.
