Jigawa Implements Hijab Rule for Female Security Personnel.

The Jigawa State Government has announced a new directive mandating the wearing of hijab for all female security operatives serving within the state.

The policy, which aligns with the state’s commitment to promoting Islamic values and cultural norms, was officially communicated during a security stakeholders’ meeting held in Dutse on Tuesday.

According to government officials, the decision seeks to empower Muslim women in uniformed roles to comfortably observe their religious obligations while discharging their duties. The mandate covers female officers in various security outfits, including the police, civil defense, and vigilante services operating in Jigawa.

Speaking on the development, a senior government representative emphasized that the policy respects religious rights and promotes inclusivity within the security architecture of the state.

The move has drawn mixed reactions from the public, with some stakeholders applauding the government’s stance on religious freedom, while others raised concerns about potential uniform code conflicts.
