Israel Adesanya has Opened up About Finance Struggles
The UFC, fighter Israel Adesanya opened up about his finacial struggles during his days in China, when he lost a fight to Pereira during his kickboxing.
He said “When I was fighting in China and I lost to Alex, they stopped giving me fights. I think, at the time, I was the highest-paid foreign fighter in China, but then they stopped giving me fights,” Adesanya revealed.
He pleaded with the promotion, saying, “Look, I have seven more fights on my contract. Can I at least just get three? I just need three.”
He recalled how his manager had come to his aid when he had only $500, which couldn’t cover his groceries for a week.
This sheds light on the struggle the athletes face during their dark time no matter how big the are.
Although his recent lost losses to Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis, ‘The Last Stylebender’ is not ready to throw in the towel.
In a recent interview on The Adam Carolla Show, the fighter revealed that he still wants one more fight before the year ends or early next year.
“At the moment, I want to fight one more time before the end of this year, or early next year. But I don’t know yet. I’m just training, building off where we left off,” Adesanya stated.
He also addressed his recent losses admitting to tactical errors when he pointed at the ground after slipping.
As he plots his comeback fans are eager to see what’s instore for them from the star.
