INEC Starts Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration Today.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the start of the Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration exercise, beginning today, Monday, August 18, 2025.

The commission revealed via its official X account that the process kicks off with an online pre-registration phase, allowing eligible Nigerians to register through the portal www.cvr.inecnigeria.org.

Physical registration is set to begin on August 25, 2025, and will be available at INEC’s offices across all 37 states and 774 local government areas, ensuring easy access for all prospective voters.

INEC has warned against multiple registrations, stressing that violators may face penalties.

The commission encourages all eligible citizens to seize this opportunity, emphasizing the importance of voter registration in fostering inclusive democratic participation.
