Impeached Speaker Obasa occupies Meranda’s office with police escorts.
The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, arrived at the Assembly complex on February 27 with a team of heavily armed security personnel.
This occurred shortly after the security details of his successor, Meranda Mojisola, were withdrawn.
Obasa, who was ousted last month, entered the Speaker’s office with more than 11 police officers, disregarding his colleagues who were gathered in the Assembly’s garden discussing the ongoing situation.
The sudden removal of Meranda’s security aides has exposed both the Speaker and the legislative building to potential risks, sparking concerns about the Assembly’s stability.
