A tragic incident occurred in Plateau State, where a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), identified as Safwan Adamu Fade, was fatally attacked by hoodlums in the Pankshin Local Government Area.
Fade was serving at the Federal College of Education in Pankshin.
The attack took place on January 22, 2025, at approximately 6:00 PM, when unknown assailants assaulted him at the Pankshin township stadium.
He sustained severe injuries and was initially treated at a local hospital before being transferred to Jos University Teaching Hospital due to complications, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, confirmed the incident and announced the arrest of two male suspects, Samuel Dang Kat and Zatshinen Wubwerwe, in connection with the attack.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend additional suspects involved in the case.
The Commissioner emphasized the commitment of the police to bring all perpetrators to justice and urged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies to combat crime in the state.
