Hezbollah Launches Rockets Towards Haifa, Israel.

Hezbollah, a militant organisation based in Lebanon, claimed to have launched rockets into Haifa in northern Israel on Tuesday, October 8, following the city’s first rocket strike in eighteen years on Monday, October 7.

The Iranian-backed Hezbollah claimed to have fired a “large rocket salvo” on Haifa and its northern suburbs.

On Tuesday, the Israeli military announced that more than 100 missiles had crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory, with some intercepted. 

Hezbollah’s attack comes as Israel continues its ground invasion of Lebanon.

 Earlier, Israel announced that its soldiers had commenced ground operations in southwestern Lebanon. Until now, the invasion had concentrated on the eastern side of the boundary.

Israel claims that the ground attack, which started on September 30, is aimed against Hezbollah locations. 

In a show of support for Hamas, Hezbollah started firing at Israel a year ago, killing about 2,000 Lebanese.
