Famous Nigerian Trafficker Who was Imprisoned for rape, Murder, and Torturing Migrants kills himself in an Italian Jail after Assaulting Four Guards.

John Ogais “Rambo,” a well-known human trafficker from Nigeria who was suspected of abusing and killing migrants, killed himself in an Italian jail.

Local media reports that on Monday, September 16, 2024, Ogais committed himself after assaulting and hurting four prison wardens.

Ogais was detained in 2017 on suspicion of being a member of a group that trafficked in migrants and subjected them to abuse, sexual assault, and cruelty while they were in Italy.

Once migrants recognised Ogais, they had him detained at the large Cara ‘Santa’Anna’ shelter in the seaside town of Isola Capo Rizzuto in Calabria.

The migrants had arrived on the southern Italian island of Lampedusa.Several migrants stated police they were informed that Ogais, also known as “Rambo,” had killed two Nigerian migrants by beating them to death at the camp in Libya where they were being detained.

Witnesses said that Ogais intimidated the minor migrant with a loaded revolver and killed him in front of his sibling, who was made to watch the murder.

One of the migrants on Lampedusa was cited by authorities as saying, “I know that my cousin and others tried to escape and that they were caught and subsequently died from the torture meted out to them.”

Ogais and other traffickers subjected migrants to “countless” forms of torture, including as electric shocks and rubber tube beatings on different body parts.
