Currently, Chris Pine writes children’s books
These days, actor Chris Pine is narrating a different kind of story.
The popular “Star Trek” actor has now released “When Digz the Dog Met Zurl the Squirrel: A Short Tale About a Short Tail,” a children’s book.
Pine told People magazine that she got a lot of inspiration and delight from writing when she considered her parents reading it. “I remember when I was a kid and fell in love with a book, I’d have my father read it over and over again,” Pine said.
“It would be great to write something that hopefully feels so delicious in the mouth and is so fun to say that they would want to come back and explore over and over again,” Pine said. “Even though I’m not a parent, I can’t tell you how many parents I’ve talked to, and for whatever reason, they are just sick and tired of reading book X for the umpteenth time.” “The tale is actually fairly straightforward, but that doesn’t make it any less significant to emphasize the value of compassion and, in a sense, looking past appearances.”
The main character is a dog named Digz who thinks he is in charge of a garden, but Zurl, a squirrel, thinks otherwise.
The two quickly discover they have certain things in common.
“My dog chased after a squirrel while I was out for a walk with a friend during the first phase of the COVID] quarantine,” Pine said. “I don’t think I know of a story about a dog chasing a squirrel,” my friend said. It appears to be so omnipresent. Every dog chases squirrels, right? And I answered, ‘Yeah, that sounds about right.’”
“I really wanted the book to have that timeless feel, but also the musicality of the language that you’d find,” stated the actor, who also owns dogs.
He stated, “I wanted to write and create something that felt like it had been around for fifty years.” This book will still be relevant in 50 years, just as it would have been 50 years ago, and 50 years from now. and the story is intended to be enjoyable for parents to read as well as being really basic, palatable, and easy to explain to small children.
It is currently possible to purchase “When Digz the Dog Met Zurl the Squirrel: A Short Tale About a Short Tail.”
