A Magistrate Court in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, has discharged and acquitted singer Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, along with his associate Samson Balogun Eletu (Sam Larry), Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s manager, Opere Babatunde, in connection with the death of Aloba Oladimeji IleriOluwa, also known as Mohbad.
According to Channels TV, Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje ruled on Monday, February 25, that the defendants had no case to answer regarding the singer’s controversial death, as per the legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), Lagos.
However, the DPP stated that it would proceed with the prosecution of auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe and Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sadiq, for reckless and negligent acts. The charges, filed under Section 251 (e) of the Lagos State Criminal Law 2015, will be heard at the Magistrate Court.
Mohbad passed away under unclear circumstances on September 12, 2023. Following his death, Naira Marley and Sam Larry were accused of bullying the late singer while he was alive, leading to their arrest and subsequent legal proceedings.
