CAN Urges Government to Address Insecurity and Ease Economic Hardship

The government has been urged to take immediate action to address the problems of social divide, economic hardship, and insecurity by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). This request was expressed in a letter sent to Muslims commemorating Eid-ul-Maulud, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), by CAN President Archbishop Daniel Okoh in Abuja.

Nigerian authorities were encouraged by Archbishop Okoh to enact measures that would guarantee justice and equity for all while also easing the suffering of the people. He stressed that reviving faith in the future of the country depends on transparent leadership and sound governance.

He said, “We in CAN hope that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will inspire Nigerians to pursue justice, peace, and unity as Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Maulud.”

He emphasized the value of promoting harmony and understanding, pointing out that Nigeria’s strength is found in its diversity of culture and religion. He emphasized that all citizens must stand together.

Archbishop Okoh stated, “Let us use this celebration to renew our commitment to fostering peace and understanding among all Nigerians.” “We must unite in solidarity during these difficult times, putting aside differences in race and religion. We are stronger when we cooperate to achieve shared objectives, and we can create a more peaceful society by respecting one another and having open discussions.

All religious leaders, Okoh advised, should keep spreading themes of peace and tolerance.
