Bomb Blast Claims Nine Lives on Maiduguri-Damboa Road in Borno

A bomb explosion has k!lled nine passengers traveling along the Maiduguri-Damboa road in Borno State. The incident occurred around noon on Saturday, causing significant disruption on the route.

Eyewitnesses, including local drivers who passed the scene after the blast, confirmed that people gathered at the site to express sympathy, and traffic was delayed as security forces carried out a clearance operation.

“I drove past the area this afternoon after the incident had occurred. I saw a crowd gathered at the spot, and we were delayed briefly due to security presence,” said one motorist.

Another witness, who chose to remain anonymous, said the damage to the vehicle clearly pointed to an explosion rather than a road accident. “From the condition of the bus, it was obviously a bomb. Reports suggest it hit an explosive device placed close to the roadside, and all nine passengers died on the spot.”

When contacted for further details, the spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, ASP Nahum Daso, said he was still gathering information and would provide a full update once the necessary reports were available.
