Superstar Kylian Mbappe of Real Madrid is Accused of rape at Swedish hotel

French sensation Kylian Mbappe, who plays for Real Madrid, has been charged with sexual harassment and rape at a hotel in Sweden.  This happens soon after he called out a report of an alleged rape at the hotel where he was staying with friends last week, calling it "fake news."  Following accusations against the Real Madrid player, Mbappe is reportedly the subject of a police investigation, according to the Swedish publication Expressen. Last Wednesday, the football player and his friends took a trip to Sweden, where they slept at the Bank Hotel in the heart of the city.  Later on Friday, they departed the nation. The alleged rape is said to have happened on Thursday.  That evening, Mbappe had gone to the Chez Jolie restaurant, then on to the V nightclub, and eventually, in a black van, he had returned to his hotel with his group.  Mbappe posted a newspaper story on X about an alleged rape that occurred at the hotel, captioning it, "Fake News!" It's getting so cliched, happening almost by accident right before the hearing. Two days later, according to Expressen, a police report was submitted. Police are reportedly looking into a rape that may have occurred Thursday night at the central Stockholm hotel, according to the Swedish daily Aftonbladet.  According to Aftonbladet, investigators and a forensic team were at the purported crime scene on Monday.  The woman sought care at a nearby hospital, according to the publication, which raised the alarm about the alleged rape. On Friday, Mbappe departed in a private plane from the Bromma airport in Sweden.  "I will not say anything about this," the prosecutor in charge of the rape probe told local media in response to a request for comment on the case. Spokesman Carina Skagerlind for the Stockholm police provided a similar reply to MailOnline, saying,  "The police can neither confirm nor deny such a case."  Aftonbladet reports that no suspects have yet been identified in this instance.

Monday's business and economic activity in Anambra State's commercial centres of Onitsha, Nnewi, Obosi, and Ekwulobia was completely shut down.  The majority of the stores in the main marketplaces of Onitsha, Ochanja, Nkpor Motor Parts, Electrical, and Mgbuka remained closed, which contributed to the poor participation of traders. It was also noted that banks, car dealerships, schools, courts, and office buildings closed on Mondays as usual. This was in opposition to the order issued by Governor Chukwuma Soludo during his visit to Onitsha Main Market last week. In support of the sit-at-home movement, the governor threatened to seal any store or plaza that stayed closed on Mondays. The South-East loses an estimated N19.6 billion on Mondays, according to Soludo, who bemoaned the ongoing boycott of events on that day.
