AI Nassr Not Moving Forward With Boniface Anymore

The anticipated move of Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface to the Saudi Arabian football club Al Nassr has fallen through. Instead of signing Boniface, the club has decided to go for Aston Villa’s forward, Jhon Duran.

Al Nassr decided to buy Duran in a deal worth €77 million, which includes extra payments based on his performance. This move means they will not be pursuing the Nigerian player any longer.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that discussions about Boniface had been moving forward, and a team from Saudi Arabia was in Germany to negotiate the details.

Al Nassr had shown interest in Boniface, who currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen, with the German club valuing him at around €50 million.

Boniface, who is 24 years old, had joined Leverkusen earlier this year from Union Saint-Gilloise for €20 million and recently extended his contract to stay with the team until 2029, becoming one of their top-paid players.

Despite this, Al Nassr opted to pull out of the transfer for Boniface in favor of signing 21-year-old Colombian striker Jhon Duran. Duran has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms and is set to sign a long-term contract. His medical check is planned for January 30, after which he will officially join Al Nassr to play alongside stars
