Abba Yusuf Orders All Political Appointees to Declare Their Assets

The Governor of Kano State has directed that all political appointees in his administration should declare their assets in compliance with the Code of Conduct rules.

Speaking during an Iftar (Ramadan breaking of fast) event with Heads of Government Agencies and Special Advisers at the Kano Government House on Thursday, March 20, Yusuf noted that 60 to 70 percent of appointees had yet to comply with the requirement. He urged them to promptly obtain, complete, and submit the necessary forms to ensure legal compliance.

The governor also emphasized the role of special advisers, encouraging them to actively monitor government affairs, provide constructive feedback, and submit reports on governance matters.

Also, the governor announced that 13 Hajj seats had been allocated to the Heads of Government Agencies.

Dr. Rahila Mukhtar, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (KCHIMA) in responding on behalf of the appointees, expressed gratitude to the governor for his support.

The Secretary to the State Government, Malam Umar Ibrahim, reminded the appointees of their oath to execute their duties with justice. He urged them to remain committed to Yusuf’s mission and vision, prioritizing transformation and improving the standard of living for the residents of Kano.
