A day-old baby abandoned in Niger state?

A woman who has not yet been named has abandoned a day-old girl in Minna, the capital of Niger State, in the New Market neighbourhood.

The baby’s cry was heard behind one of the houses on Monday, November 11, 2024, at around one in the morning, according to residents who spoke to Daily Trust.

According to Maryam Abdullah, one of the residents, a nurse had been hired to assess the baby’s health before releasing her to the authorities for appropriate care.“The baby was found at the back of one of the houses in the New Market area around 1 am when residents heard her cry.

A nurse has been engaged to examine the health of the baby and she has been confirmed to be in good health.

So, we want to contact the appropriate authorities to take custody of the baby,” she stated.
