12 Suspected Bandits Bodie Discovered in FCT Village Following Security Operation

On the finding of 12 bodies thought to be those of bandits, there was anxiety in the Tokulo hamlet of the Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory.

On Tuesday morning, October 15, 2024, Jerry Alkali, the area councillor for the Igu Ward, told Daily Trust that the remains were still there.

According to Alkali, locals contacted him Monday between 2 and 3 in the morning to express their fear at the frequent gunshot noises in the neighbourhood.

He said,
“No one could afford to sleep at the time due to the tension caused by the development. It was later in the morning when some of them were heading to their farms that they sighted corpses lying on the ground outside the village along a road that leads to the Pmape community in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State”.

Another neighbour, who wished to remain unidentified, stated that none of the victimswere from the town, implying that the deceased were either engaged or brought in and shot dead by security personnel.

The publication claims that Tokulo, the hometown of the currencchairman of the Bwari AreaCouncil, has already seen a number of bandit attacks that have resulted in the deaths of both residents and security personnel.

An FCT Special Anti-kidnapping Unit official verified the most recent instance, although he would not elaborate on how it occurred.
