Lagos Court has Sentenced the Head teacher to life in Jail for the Abused of two 7-year-old students

 Benjamin Ogba, a head teacher, was given a life sentence on Tuesday by Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court for abusing two seven-year-old girls. 

The judge determined that the prosecution had satisfied the court with the elements of defilement and had proven the case beyond a reasonable doubt. 

According to Sholadoye, the defence witnesses’ testimony was tainted with falsehoods and was therefore untrustworthy.

She called the inmate a “serial paedophile.”

The convict and his fellow defence witnesses were not truthful and credible in their testimonies, during the trial. Their testimonies were a pack of lies and fell asunder like a pack of cards,” the judge said.

 Head teacher who is supposed to instill moral values in his students, this serial paedophile went to great lengths to contaminate the young ladies. 

How unfortunate! She declared, “This careless and sloppy teacher who gives his students nonsense should be put in jail.”

The judge also commended the two survivors for having the guts to confront their abuser in court. 

Any form of sexual abuse, she continued, ought to be reported and not ignored. Additionally, Soladoye advised parents to report cases of sexual abuse to the proper authorities without hesitation.

To defend the rights of young children, all parties involved in the administration of justice must prioritise ongoing education and knowledge of the sexual menace issue. 

“The defendant is hereby condemned to life in prison on each of the two crimes that border on defilement after being found guilty of them.

 “However, his name will be entered into the Lagos State-maintained Sex Offences Register concurrently with the sentencing,” she stated. 

Mr. Olusola Soneye, the state prosecutor, brought three witnesses during the trial, while the defence attorney called four. 

According to the prosecutor, the offence was committed at Shalom Private School, Oke-Ira Road, Ebutte Metta, Lagos, sometime between April and May 10, 2019.

He claimed that by engaging in illegal sexual relations with the two victims, Ogba defamed them. 

However, one of the girls alerted her mother, and the matter was reported to the police station, the prosecutor also told the court. 

The prosecution claims that the offence violated Section 137 of the Lagos State 2015 Criminal Laws.
