Man Commits Suicide Over Alleged Marital Issues
Man identified simply as Charles has committed suicide over alleged marital dispute in Jeddo community in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to Nigeria Tribunal, Charles allegedly took a substance suspected to be Sniper at about 3:30pm on Monday 7 October, 2024.
Sources said Charles was a member of the Jeddo community vigilance group tasked with maintaining security in the area and a native of Jeddo community as well.
Charles drank the lethal substance at his home before proceeding to Ugbokodo, his in-laws’ residence, where he passed away shortly after. Reports suggests Charles, took his own life over personal issues including the unceremoniously departure of his wife following a heated argument.
Despite effort made by Charles to rekindle their marriage seemed abortive. The spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, said he has not been officially informed of the case.
