“We don’t need your security, we will provide our own security” ~ Governor Fubara
The governor of Rivers State has stated clearly that the LG election will hold. In an interview held in the early hours of Friday she stated that the court didn’t say election should be ban.
He intervened in an alleged attempt by the Nigerian police to take over the Rivers State Independence Electoral Commission (RSIEC) headquarter to seize sensitive materials.
The incident took place by 1AM when a group of police tried to break in the strong room of the commission, where the materials were stored. These materials are meant for the upcoming LG election to hold on Saturday.
In response the governor gave a direct warning saying they don’t need the police aid that they will provide their own security.
