Following the strike on Israel, Iran’s foreign minister calls his counterparts in Europe
Following his nation’s missile attack on Israel, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke over the phone with colleagues in Europe, according to a report released by state media on Wednesday.
Araghchi reportedly had conversations with colleagues in the UK, France, and Germany as well as the German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, according to Iranian news agency IRNA.
According to Araghchi, the missile assault on Israel is now over, as reported by IRNA.
Referring to potential Israeli retribution, the minister declared, “But if the Zionist regime takes retaliatory action, our response will be even tougher.”
He emphasized that although Iran does not fear conflict, it does not seek an escalation.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran reported that on Tuesday night, 200 missiles were fired into Israel.
The strong elite section of the Iranian military forces claimed responsibility for the strike, citing the deaths of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, an Iranian general, and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh as targets.
The Israeli army initially estimated that 180 missiles had been fired.
Iran claims that the strike was directed for the headquarters of the Israeli foreign intelligence agency Mossad as well as three Israeli air bases.
