Lagos Leaders Rally Behind President Tinubu’s Bid for Second Term

Stakeholders from Lagos State have officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek a second term in office. The endorsement took place during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State 2025 Stakeholders Forum held on Tuesday, which brought together top political figures, traditional rulers, federal and state lawmakers, local government chairmen, and representatives of various interest groups.

Notable attendees included former Lagos governors Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) and Akinwunmi Ambode, as well as the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, who represented other federal ministers. Members of the Lagos State Executive Council, the State Party Executive, and the Governance Advisory Council were also present.

The motion to endorse President Tinubu was moved by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, speaking on behalf of traditional rulers in the state. The motion was seconded by Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, who expressed support on behalf of Lagos lawmakers and the people of the state.

The endorsement was confirmed by Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who shared details and a video of the event on social media.

This show of support highlights a strong consensus among Lagos stakeholders backing President Tinubu’s bid for continued leadership in the 2027 elections.
