Osimhen Brace Seals Galatasaray’s Second Straight Champions League Victory

Victor Osimhen continued his remarkable scoring run as Galatasaray defeated Bodø/Glimt 3–1 at Rams Park on Wednesday, securing back-to-back UEFA Champions League wins. The Nigerian striker struck early, finishing calmly from Mario Lemina’s through ball in the third minute to ignite a raucous home crowd.
Osimhen remained a constant threat and was rewarded again in the 33rd minute, capitalizing on a poor backpass from Fredrik André Bjørkan to round goalkeeper Nikita Haikin and slot home for his second of the night. Despite a brief spell of pressure from the visitors, who struck the post through Sondre Brunstad Fet, Galatasaray maintained control throughout.
After the break, Osimhen’s relentless pressing created another breakthrough when he robbed Haitam Aleesami on the edge of the box and set up Yunus Akgün, who converted at the second attempt to make it 3–0. Bodø/Glimt’s Andreas Helmersen headed in a late consolation, but it was too little, too late.
The victory extended Galatasaray’s impressive run to 21 wins in their last 23 matches across all competitions, while ending Bodø/Glimt’s five-match unbeaten streak in Europe.
Osimhen’s brace also saw him make club history, becoming the first Galatasaray player to score in seven consecutive European matches, surpassing Burak Yılmaz’s 2012 record. The 26-year-old Super Eagles forward, who joined permanently in August after netting 37 goals last season, has now scored against Tottenham, AZ Alkmaar, Dynamo Kyiv, Ajax, Liverpool, and Bodø/Glimt in continental competition.
With two wins and one defeat from their opening three games, Okan Buruk’s Galatasaray sit in a strong position in their Champions League group, powered by the unstoppable form of their new talisman.
