Lil Nas X Released on Bail After Assault Charges, Ordered to Attend Narcotics Meetings.
Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Hill, has been released from jail after spending the weekend in custody. He was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday, August 21, and initially charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
He was also reportedly hospitalized for a possible drug overdose, though the LAPD has not confirmed that detail.
On August 25, he appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to four felony charges: three counts of battery on a police officer causing injury and one count of resisting an executive officer, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.
He remained behind bars until Monday, when he posted $75,000 bail and was released.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 15. If convicted, Lil Nas X could face up to five years in state prison.
The judge has also ordered him to attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings each week, as police suspect he was under the influence of drugs during the incident.
