Germany Urges Israel to Justify Gaza Airstrike That K!lled Al Jazeera Journalist and Colleagues.

Germany has urged Israel to provide a detailed and transparent explanation following the d@ath of Al Jazeera journalist Anas al-Sharif and four of his colleagues in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City.

The call came after Al Jazeera reported that the journalists were k!lled when an Israeli strike hit a tent used by members of the media.

A spokesperson for the German Foreign Office stated on Monday that the k!ll!ng of journalists is unacceptable under international humanitarian law, and any such incident must be clearly justified by the responsible party.

The spokesperson noted that Israel has not yet offered an adequate explanation and, if the military claims the strike was targeting a specific individual, it must clarify why five people were k!lled in the process.

The Israeli military has acknowledged al-Sharif’s d@ath, alleging he was heading a Hamas “terrorist cell” while disguising himself as a journalist.

The German Foreign Office emphasized that journalists are protected under international law and that removing this protection requires serious and clear justification.

The spokesperson added that Germany expects Israel to provide a full and transparent account and stressed the importance of allowing journalists in Gaza to work safely and without obstruction.
