Majority of German Firms See EU–US Trade Deal as Burden, DIHK Finds.
nearly 60 percent of german firms think the EU-US trade deal will make things harder for them says a new survey by the german chambers of commerce and industry also known as DIHK.
the survey asked about 2600 companies that do business abroad and 58 percent said they faced more trade barriers in the last year like higher tariffs new rules and harder customs checks.
around 70 percent of those companies said us trade policy is making things worse for their business especially with all the political changes happening in the us.
volker treier who handles foreign trade at DIHK said more and more german companies are finding it tough to do business internationally and many now see the US not as a partner but as a problem.
the EU and the US are still talking about trade rules and climate tariffs but german companies worry these talks will just lead to more red tape and higher costs.
the report shows how worried german exporters are about growing tensions and changing rules in global trade.
