NAFDAC Storms Lagos Trade Fair, Seizes Banned Products Worth Over N1.5 Billion.
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has carried out a large-scale enforcement operation at the cosmetics section of the Lagos Trade Fair market, seizing banned, expired, and unregistered products valued at more than N1.5 billion.

The raid, led by Dr. Martins Iluyomade, Director of Investigation and Enforcement, uncovered multiple warehouses filled with cosmetics, food items, and other regulated products that lacked proper registration or date markings.

Authorities evacuated over one trailer load of these items, while another trailer carrying cosmetics was intercepted. The driver fled the scene, but NAFDAC operatives secured the vehicle.

This action is part of NAFDAC’s broader national campaign to eliminate unsafe consumer products.
The agency is urging the public to stay alert, avoid unverified products, and report any suspicious goods.

The operation marks one of the most significant seizures in recent times, highlighting NAFDAC’s ongoing efforts to safeguard public health.
