Bauchi Government Appoints New Governing Council to Drive Sa’adu Zungur University Forward.
The Bauchi State Government has announced the appointment of new leadership and members to the governing council of Sa’adu Zungur University, the state-owned institution.
This decision follows the submission of a report by a Visitation Panel tasked with evaluating the university’s status.
According to a press release from Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Muhammed, the reconstitution of the council was approved by the governor as part of efforts to enhance academic standards, governance, and sustainable growth at the university.
In a significant move, Governor Muhammed has appointed Professor Gambo Laraba Abdullahi, a distinguished educationist and scholar, as Chairperson of the reconstituted Governing Council.
Professor Abdullahi brings extensive experience, strong academic credentials, and a deep commitment to higher education reform to her new role.
Other members appointed to the council include Alhaji Suleiman G. Abdulkadir, Professors Isa Yashi, Sabo Hamma, Mohammed Babangida, Comfort Audu, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and the Bauchi Head of Civil Service.
Governor Muhammed has urged the new council leadership to collaborate closely with the university’s management and all stakeholders to transform Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau, into a leading center of academic excellence and innovation.
He also congratulated Professor Abdullahi and the other appointees, wishing them success in their important and demanding roles.
