Osun APC Reinstated LG Chairmen Split Over Governorship Candidate.

Osogbo, Nigeria – A fresh crisis is brewing within the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as reinstated local government chairmen are reportedly divided over the party’s choice of a governorship candidate for the next election.
Sources within the party indicate that while some chairmen support a candidate believed to have the backing of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, others are pushing for a new face they claim can strengthen the party’s chances against the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The division comes weeks after the Court of Appeal’s controversial ruling, which the APC interpreted as restoring its previously sacked local government chairmen.
However, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration insists the ruling does not automatically reinstate them, leading to further political tensions.
As the APC prepares for the 2026 governorship election, party leaders are working behind the scenes to reconcile the warring factions and prevent internal disputes from weakening the party’s chances.
Political analysts warn that if unresolved, the internal crisis could give the PDP an advantage in the upcoming election.
