Soludo Enhances Security at Anambra Secretariat with CCTV and Solar Lighting.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has stepped up security at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka by installing surveillance cameras, solar-powered lighting, and other safeguards.
In a statement released on Wednesday, state Commissioner for Information Law Mefor said the moves were part of the administration’s commitment to bolstering security at key government buildings.
The measures include installing 40 CCTV cameras for real-time secretariat monitoring, two hybrid solar-powered control rooms to guarantee continuous surveillance, and solar-powered lighting to improve nighttime visibility and discourage criminal activity.
Mefor explained that perimeter security had been enhanced with barbed wire to prevent unauthorized access, while iron protectors were added to doors and windows to prevent illegal entry.
He also mentioned that access control measures had been introduced, including covering exposed drainage areas that were once used as illegal entry points.
To improve security coordination, the management of the secretariat’s security team was reorganized.
Additionally, the access road leading to the complex was repaired to improve movement within the area. “These actions reflect the governor’s proactive approach to addressing security issues at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat and ensuring a safe working environment for government employees,” Mefor said.
The initiative also highlights Soludo’s broader commitment to strengthening security infrastructure across Anambra State.
