US Sues Ship Companies For $100 Million Over The Baltimore Bridge Incident

A $100 million (£75.6 million) lawsuit brought by the US government targets the owner and operator of the cargo ship that collided with and damaged the Baltimore bridge.
Six passengers lost their lives when the Dali crashed into the Francis Key Scott bridge in March, although the businesses Synergy and Grace Ocean were “well aware” of the problems with the vehicle, according to Justice Department authorities.
According to the authorities, it took more than $100 million to remove the 3,000–4,000 tonnes of debris left over from the collision and allow the Port of Baltimore to reopen.
According to US Attorney Erek Barron, the complaint claims that “negligence” and “a series of catastrophic failures on board” the Dali were to blame for the incident.

The families of three of the deceased workers said on Monday that they will also be suing Grace Ocean, the shipping firm.
