Kim Sae-ron, South Korean Actress, Found Dead in Seoul Apartment.

Authorities reported on Sunday that 24-year-old South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron was discovered dead in her flat in Seongsu-dong.

Police revealed that a friend found her body at around 4:55 PM (07:55 GMT), according to BBC News on Sunday. No evidence of foul play was discovered by investigators, and the cause of death is still being officially investigated.

Kim was considered one of the most promising young stars in South Korea when she started her career as a child actress.

Born in Seoul in 2000, she rose to fame with her performance in the Cannes Film Festival-winning 2009 film A Brand New Life.

She went on to star in The Man from Nowhere (2010), which was South Korea’s highest-grossing film that year, and the critically acclaimed 2012 thriller The Neighbour.

Other noteworthy films include the 2014 film A Girl at My Door and the 2016 television drama Mirror of the Witch. Kim mostly disappeared from the public eye in 2022 after a drunk driving incident, for which she was fined 20 million won (£11,000) in April 2023.

Her final role was in Netflix’s 2023 drama Bloodhounds, although reports suggest that a large portion of her performance was cut out of the controversy.
